It’s been very hard for me to buy clothes in Canada. I usually like black/gray or red/purple tones, and I just happened to find out I’M TOO SMALL FOR CANADIAN STANDARDS.
Women’s sizes are like 0,2,4.. and there’s this extra, extra small size, the 00. You guessesed, I wear the 00. Obviously, not all stores have the 00 size. I’m also considered “petite” – I’m too short – and finding a brand that sells BOTH petite AND 00 is almost impossible.
Because I live in this clothing wormhole, I have to find alternatives. It turns out that I can wear GAP‘s “ultra skinny capri” – the smallest of the smallest – as normal, decent jeans. But the REAL problem has been finding “businesswear” – you know, button shirts, this kind of thing. All my button shirts look alike.
Some people suggested me Banana Republic and Pacific Mall. Banana Republic is very nice, but pricey, and Pacific Mall… well… I hate shoppings, and I would never travel to Pacific Mall just for shopping. A solution I’m yet to try is Kensington Market / Chinatown – I may not find exactly what I’m looking for, but surely I’m gonna have some fun there.

Is there any Mark’s Work Wearhouse there? That’s where you wanna go for working clothes.
They do have a petite section. Not sure if they go all the way to 00, but you could a look.

Yep, Mark’s the first canadian store I’ve been to. The smallest size I’ve ever seen there is 2 – I look like a baloon wearing those. I asked for “clothes my size” and the salesguy told me they didn’t have kids’ stuff. Awesome. The guy is probably 10 years younger than me – but at least 1 feet taller.
comprar pela internet está fora de cogitação?
Quem compra roupa pela interwebs?
Might just have to go with tailoring. I’m always being pushed toward petites by shop employees when I ask for something smaller than what I’ve seen, but I’m too tall for petites, so that doesn’t work. I just have to become good friends with my needle and thread.
