Seven Months

It’s been seven and a half months since my arrival here, and by no means I feel homesick. Probably because I feel more like at home now than I’ve ever felt before.

After the temp job at TIFF I moved to a full-time position at an IT Company, more like me. I also decided to take the yoga thing more seriously and I’m doing the first part of the Yoga Teacher Training. Now you call me nuts.

Canadian workplace culture is very similar to brazilian, specially when it comes to IT, so my life at work is pretty much the same. I absolutely LOVE my job, it’s one of those places I wake up and REALLY WANT to be there. And it’s hard to find a position where you feel like that.

About life here, I’d really like to make a video to all brazilians, about how’s life in a country where abortions and same-sex marriages don’t freak people out… It’s just…. normal. People wake up, have breakfast, take the transit, go to work. I’d also like to point out that it’s not always freezing and snowy – we had a hell of a summer this year – in Canada, and around 10C is usually great for bike rides.

I love the food, I love the weather, I love the people, the squirrels climbing the trees, the trees becoming red and naked as the winter approaches.

So poetic, eh? Let’s get the party started!
